Abby got ready in the dressing room of the theater where Hatch Show Prints line the hallways.
Abby kept getting more and more excited as the minutes ticked by. Meanwhile Jonathan kept sending her texts that consisted of a slew of exclamation points.
Abby and Jonathan opted for a first look, which means they see each other for the first time before the ceremony. It allows the bride and groom to just have some quiet, (mostly) private time together before everything really gets started. And it gives more time for photos.
Jonathan was as excited in person as his texts. Meanwhile as soon as Abby stepped out the door, a gust of wind pushed her hair around into her face. A few deft sweeps of her hands and she looked as glamourous as ever, just in time for Jonathan to turn around.
I don't think I've ever seen two people so calm and so excited at the same time. Their happiness radiated off them and it was easy to capture the moments as they just enjoyed each other's company.
We moved to a park across the street from the Hall of Fame for some family portraits.
While Jonathan was photographed with his best man I snuck in a little time with Abby and her adorable niece/flowergirl.
Then we headed back inside for the evening ceremony in the library, which was short but incredibly sweet.
Steps away at the reception, toasts were made by Jonathan's best friend and Abby's sister. Abby's sister actually worked with Jonathan and thought he'd make a good match for her sister. She set them up on their first date and then during her toast read to everyone the first impressions they'd both texted her after the date was through.
It was great meeting Abby and Jonathan and getting to be a part of such an important day for them. They are sweet people with infectious enthusiasm for life. Thank you once again to Sarah Barlow for inviting me along. It's always fun to go on photography adventures with her. And this was such a fantastic opportunity!
I really enjoy photographing weddings, so if you're looking for someone for your wedding or you're a photographer looking for a second shooter, feel free to fill out my contact form. And if you know someone who is getting ready to get married, feel free to share a link to this post. Right now it's looks like I'll have the most availability in the Illinois area but I'm open to travel.
And if you'd like to see more photos of Abby and Jonathan's Nashville wedding, I made this little video below. (A word of warning - there is music with the video so turn down your speakers if you'd rather not/cannot listen to music right now.)
