Head Shot | Portrait: JD

Several weeks ago my buddy had an away message up that mentioned a need for a head shot. We talked for a bit and I offered up my photographic services. I've done a fair amount of portraits, but not a lot of anything with a purpose like that of a head shot in some time. I was more than happy to give it a go again though.

We picked a later time to meet, hoping it wouldn't be as hot by then, but it was still rather steamy outside. Luckily we were able to find some good locations in the shade. The audience was a surprise though. There were at least 100 other people nearby and several of them came to check out what we were doing. Considering JD's a performer (among many other things), it was sort of appropriate.

Here are a few highlights of our session.

JD is a comedian and he loves making faces in photos. I think before this session I had approximately two photos where he wasn't making one. He did a pretty good job of keeping a straight (or a bit less goofy) face through for most of these. He hasn't made his final choice, so feel free to chime if one of these stands out as a favorite. I know he probably won't go with it for a head shot, but I'm partial to the last one. It's a nice portrait. And it really shows his understated side.

Thanks for a fun shoot, JD. And break a leg.

That 4th one almost came out looking high-def.
